Hatha Yoga (beginner) with Amalie Malochee 8:15-9:30 PM This class is open to beginner and intermediate students who will explore a variety of foundational seated and standing poses with the use of modifications and props to make the asanas more accessible and safe. Iyengar yoga focuses on correct body alignment allowing the body to develop in harmonious anatomical alignment so that the student suffers no injury when practicing correctly. Sequencing so that there is a cumulative effect achieved by practicing asana (postures) in a particular sequence. The asanas are held for a considerable length of time so that the benefits can penetrate deeper within.
TUESDAY
Gentle Yoga (beginner) with Marcia Freeman

This new class will combine basic yoga poses and movements with bodywork techniques which enhance your body awareness, flexibility, breath, and enjoyment. Discover a new ease and freedom in your yoga practice, and your everyday activities.
Hoop Jam with Noelle Powers
6:45-8:15 PM
Join us most Tuesday nights for a Hoola Hoop Jam to lift your spirits and get a full body workout accompanied by groovetastic tracks. All ages and skill levels are welcome at this drop in jam. $5/entry per person. Joe's provides the hoops or feel free to bring your own. Hoops for sale on site as well. Zumba with Keya Thompkins

The Zumba program is an effective, exhilarating, Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that works all major groups in a high-energy cardio blast that leaves the participants invigorated, refreshed and full of life. WEDNESDAY
Capoeira Angola with Livaldo da Cruz

Capoeira Angola cultivates control of emotions, body and mind. Capoeira Angola is a rigorous workout that resembles both martial arts and dance. It also develops a cultural philosophy; rich in music, community and Afro-Brazilian ancestral connections. Capoeira Angola develops a dialogue between two bodies. In class, students of all ages will learn and practice the basic movements of Capoeira both solo and with partners while following the teacher through movements and sequences. Students will also learn the songs of Capoeira and through them, the Portuguese language and Afro-Brazilian history and culture. Students will sing as well as learn to play instruments such as berimbau, pandeiro, agogo, reco-reco and atabaque as part of the class. Students should wear comfortable shoes, pants(no shorts) and loose fitting t-shirts.

Family Tai Chi with Normon Greene

Learn and enjoy peaceful slow movements, balance, and meditation, this class is for youth and adults who will study the movements of Tai Chi Chun long form. Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for health benefits, self control, and relaxation. Using body motions, directions, and control will allow the student to find a new way to find peace and self fulfillment when "working the form". Join the team and allow you to take it slow.and enjoy the moment.

Technique Class with DEVIATED THEATRE
7:00-8:15 PMTake company class with DEVIATED THEATRE! Kimmie Dobbs Chan & Enoch Chan will lead a professional level dance technique class alongside DEVIATED THEATRE company dancers. Influences draw from Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Theatre, as well as Pilates, Yoga, and GYROKINESIS. Conditioning exercises and progressions across the floor are followed by a delicious movement combination. Class is just $13, or $10 with your Dance Pass from Dance/MetroDC.

Vinyasa Yoga (adv. beginner) with Hermione Rhones

Learn the principles of Vinyasa Yoga in this mixed-level class. The word Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement." Leave class feeling relaxed, invigorated and ready for the day.
West Coast Swing (Fundamentals II) with Sara Hilbrich and Mel Coleman
4:30-6:00 PM
Mel and Sara will continue to build on the basics of WCS in this four-week, four-hour course that also includes instructor-led practice time. Class curriculum will include instruction on "advanced beginner" patterns and technique building, which will add more essentials to your dance repertoire. Participants must either have completed Fundamentals 1 or have instructor approval to enroll.

West Coast Swing (Fundamentals I) with Sara Hilbrich and Mel Coleman
6:00-8:00 PM
West Coast Swing is a versatile partner-dance that can be done to many styles of contemporary music including, pop, rock, R&B, and even blues. It moves easily between smooth and sexy or fun and funky. Join Mel and Sara as they break down the complex nuances of this addictive dance in a 4-week series that will jump start you onto the dance floor with style. Each week will include 1.5 hours of instruction and .5 hours of practice time. Small class size and open practice time guarantees individualized attention. Same-gender/ mixed-gender couples and individuals all encouraged and welcome.
