Call for artists!
Got a creative new workshop you want to test out at Joe’s? Partner with us to build audience, test your workshop model, and experiment! As our favorite science teacher Ms. Frizzle says… “take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!”
Here’s how it works:
You pitch us your great workshop idea.
If we think it’ll be a good fit at Joe’s, we reach out to you to schedule your workshop.
Working together, we come up with a great description, determine the price, and come up with a marketing plan for the workshop.
The workshop happens and it is AWESOME.
We collect all the revenue and info (emails, feedback) from the workshop. We split the revenue with you 50-50 and give you all the collected data to build your own email list and online presence.
Sound easy? It’s because it is!
Chosen workshops will be contracted ASAP as we’ll want to include you in our 2019-20 season brochure! You will be asked to sign a contract but will not be expected to pay Joe’s anything. Joe’s will be contracted to pay you 50% of your workshop proceeds, no more, no less.
WARNING: We’re looking for creative partners who are willing to work with us to identify and market to an audience. If your workshop fails and no one attends - you get paid nothing, we get paid nothing. We expect you to be as engaged in the promotions are we are.
DISCLAIMER: Joe’s reserves the right to turn down workshop pitches that we do not believe work with our space, align with our mission to act as a catalyst for creativity and economic opportunity for all, or fit with our season. However all are welcome to apply to https://www.joesmovement.org/rent to self-present their own workshop. Anyone who rents from Joe’s is not guaranteed marketing.
So how do you do it?
Follow these simple steps:
Write up a great workshop description
Write up your own artist bio
Select up to 3 great images of you doing what you do and/or video
Put it all together in an email and send it to Candy@joesmovement.org
