"A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life." Henry Ward Beecher
The health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness about the underpinnings of our culture and our concern for the future can all be tested by how well we support our libraries. —Carl Sagan
Let's show local leaders how much we value the Mount Rainier Library and need a plan of action to reopen it now!
The future of the library will be on the agenda at the City Council Work Session on Tuesday, February 19 at 7:00 pm. Roberta Phillips, the new Chief Executive Officer of the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System will also be present to discuss what is required to re-open the library, possible change in hours of operation if reopened and programming, among other related issues.
