Creative Works Program Coordinator

The Coordinator of CreativeWorks (CW) manages an arts-based, vocational training program in youth workforce development serving young adults ages 16 to 24 living in Prince George’s County. Participants are out-of-school youth and high school seniors receiving 400 hours of training in theater and digital technology. The coordinator ensures participants receive academic support, job readiness and life skills training. The position is responsible for serving 65 participants annually with a small team part-time employees, trainers and tutors. The program is primarily funded by public and private grants with additional support from corporations, local employers, and individuals.


Arts Education Dance Instructor

The Arts Education Department at Joe’s Movement Emporium provides dance movement classes which exposes pre-school and elementary students to dance technique basics incorporating creative methods of learning and play to engage all developmental stages. 

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a curriculum for after school and summer camp classes. Identify themes, objectives, goals, methods, costumes and stage design. 

  • Plan classroom activities in advance to reach goals and objectives for the program period. 

  • Introduce and build dance vocabulary on a daily basis. 

  • Lead, instruct and choreograph students in Creative Movement and various dance styles to build several collaborative dance pieces for demonstration at showcases and local events which are inclusive of students with varying abilities. 


Arts Education Program Assistant

The Arts Education Department provides year-round service in the visual and performing arts that meets after school and during the summer. The Arts Education Program Assistant position assists in daily service delivery to 60-75 children ages 5 – 12.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor actions and conversation to ensure positive verbal/nonverbal communication 

  • Assist and support children in program activities 

  • Engage in activities with participants 

  • Observe and Evaluate student’s progress in classes
