Indie Film Series Filmmaker Call

Submissions due February 28th, 2021

Creative Suitland seeks filmmakers located in the DMV area for their monthly Indie Virtual Film Screening Series. Films will be showcased and streamed virtually on Creative Suitland’s YouTube Channel. After the screening, the director and other participants (actors, crew, etc.) will join a Creative Suitland representative for a live Q&A facilitated via zoom.

Short Films (30 minutes maximum) are preferred. Films must be locally produced and/or have a crew that is locally based. Artists will be paid an honorarium for their participation and are encouraged to promote the event to increase visibility and ensure a great audience. Creative Suitland’s virtual outreach serves the Prince George’s community but also has an international audience base.

WE ACCEPT:

- Music Videos, from Directors ONLY (4 videos minimum)

- Documentaries

- Experimental Shorts

- Student Films

- Poetry Films

- Films/Videos from the past (no limits on project’s age!)

- Sample reels from videographers (10 minutes minimum)

WE DO NOT ACCEPT

- Works with excessive sexual, violent, and/or criminal content

- Advertisements

- Raw footage/Home Videos

- Content shot in 16:9 aspect ratio (i.e. recorded vertically on a phone)

- Music Videos UNLESS they are presented by the director (minimum 4 videos)
