"As explicit a postcard from Trump's Divided America as you can imagine"

Ally Theatre Company’s take on the incendiary play by Joel Drake Johnson takes another look at the ever-topical questions about the prevalence of ingrained racism in America. This tense workplace thriller examines the realities of a so-called “post-racial” workplace where two co-workers—one black, the other white—are driven apart by the machinations of their boss. A chilling power struggle ensues that spins wildly out of control. This incisive and shocking dark comedy will keep you in its claustrophobic grip until the final moment.

Ally Founding and Producing Artistic Director, Ty Hallmark, returns to direct her first Ally show since our premiere production, The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington. Miz Washington stars Taunya Ferguson and Jane Petkofsky anchor Rasheeda Speaking as Jaclyn Spaulding and Ileen Van Meter, two co-workers pitted against each other by the manipulations of their boss, Dr. David Williams (Nick DePinto).

With only 50 seats per show, Joe's Black Box Theatre becomes an intimate performance area as the audience is invited to join us in the small waiting room of Dr. Williams's office where Jaclyn and Ileen battle to keep not only their jobs but their hard-fought dignity as well.
